Accelerate your decarbonisation journey with carbon capture and utilisation

Steel
MCi Carbon have conducted desktop assessments for integrating its technology in the steelmaking process, demonstrating that the technology using magnesium silicate feedstocks has the potential to be capture up to 90% of CO2 emissions, providing an attractive return on investment.

Working with Smartcrete CRC and Transport for NSW, MCi Carbon are testing the potential use of amorphous silica to reduce the carbon intensity of concrete. The project aims to conduct rigorous performance tests, ensure conformity with standards and lay the groundwork for larger trials.

MCi Carbon and RHI Magnesita are exploring the deployment pathway of MCi’s decarbonisation solution across refractories facilities globally, supporting an industrial scale-up of the technology in the near future. RHI Magnesita are the world’s leaders in refractories products and services.

Orica’s Kooragang Island manufacturing plant is currently host to MCi Carbon’s Myrtle CCU Plant. Supporting the scale-up of MCi technology, this partnership further validates the use-case for global chemicals industries.

Capturing large sources of CO2, MCi Carbon can partner with waste to energy (WtE) plants to further decarbonise waste treatment and the energy sector.
High thermal energy requirements in glass production and other hard-to-abate industries is a perfect use case for carbon capture and utlisation (CCU). MCi technology captures and converts CO2 into materials for use in glass and other products that traditionally use raw materials.

Our technology creates low-carbon and negative emissions materials, locking away CO2 for good.

Connecting with values aligned investment groups

MCi Carbon is a values led organisation, building and maintaining meaningful and strategic partnerships with the world’s leaders in engineering, manufacturing and sustainability. We are a privately held Australian based company trading globally.

We are always open to having discussions with values-aligned investment groups to join our existing ecosystem of investors. Our current investors include Orica, ITOCHU Corporation, RHI Magnesita, Mizuho Bank and Sumitomo Mitsui Trust Bank.

As a rapidly growing company, we are looking for talented people who share our MCi values.

MCi Carbon are always looking to expand our highly-motivated, fast-paced team in order to scale up our technology and advance our global commercialisation journey as we design and build our Carbon Plants across the world and help decarbonise industries.

MCi Carbon (MCi) is a world leading and multi award winning Australian clean technology company transforming carbon dioxide (CO2) into building products and materials for the circular carbon economy.

As industries transition away from fossil-fuel intensive manufacturing to achieve emission reduction goals and those of the Paris Climate Agreement, a range of new technologies will be developed. A role at MCi offers a unique opportunity to assist in the decarbonisation of industry with novel technology and to form collaborations and partnerships with proactive customers to make a real impact.

MCi has received local and international recognition for its R&D, recently awarded the Circular Transition Award at the 34th National Banksia Sustainability Awards and the NSW Clean Technology Award.

In 2021, MCi won first prize at the Clean Energy Start-up Pitch Battle at COP26 in Glasgow. Other global accolades include the 2018 Resource Innovator of the Year Award at the New Materials Summit in Berlin and being featured at the World Economic Forum Pioneers of Change Summit, building momentum as a global brand and a leader in carbon capture and utilisation (CCU).

Recently at the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting in Davos, MCi Carbon have been featured in Bloomberg, Forbes, and the Australian Financial Review. MCi CEO Marcus Dawe and COO Sophia Hamblin Wang were named in the 2022 and 2023 Top 100 Australian Green Power Players, published in The Australian.
